Back in 2000, the gender pay gap rate was at 15% for the Grand Duchy. 18 years later, a new research from the European Commission on the gender pay gap highlights Luxembourg as one of the lowest alongside Italy with a percentage of 5.5, while the European average is at 16.3%.

This new rate stands Luxembourg far ahead of it’s neighbors. The same study reveals that Belgium is at 6.5%, Germany at 22% and France at 15.8%. According to a previous study, made by PwC Woman in Wok Index, the Grand Duchy will be one of the first countries to fully bridge the gender pay gap by 2022, while pay equality will be achieve in Belgium in 2028 and in France in 2084.
