The University of Luxembourg improved its position in the 2017 issue of the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings reaching the eleventh place worldwide.

The results were announced during the THE Young Universities Summit taking place at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. The Young University Rankings, previously known as the THE 150 Under 50 Rankings, globally evaluates universities that are less than 50 years old.

In comparison to 2016, when it achieved rank 14, the University of Luxembourg climbed up three positions.
