For more than 70 years, ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) has been working to develop and implement international standards, supporting innovation and providing solutions to global challenges.

Experts from all over the world, representing the major players in their respective sectors, meet regularly to advance these standards, taking into account technological and societal developments.

In October, Luxembourg will host for a week the work of the Functional Safety – ISO TC22/SC32/WG8 group, which is working on the new ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 safety standards.

This work aims to develop a unified safety standard for all automotive electrical and electronic systems. They standardise their development and validation at the system, hardware and software level and make it possible to evaluate the safety level of the product developed when it is operational on the road.

Meet on the 25 October

More specifically, on the afternoon of Friday 25 October, at La Coque (in Kirchberg), an exhibition space will be organised at the same time as the plenary session of the Functional Safety Group.

“This is the first time that Luxembourg has hosted such a meeting, with the presence of around 100 world experts from the highest level representing original equipment manufacturers or suppliers such as Renault, Valeo, Continental, NVDIA, Dyson, Bosch, Daimler, Toyota, Honda,” says Anthony Auert, manager of the Luxembourg AutoMobility Cluster. “This is a great opportunity for stakeholders in this sector in Luxembourg to meet directly with the decision-makers who are at the root of the development of this standard and to better understand what the impacts will be on their business.”
