Luxinnovation is working together with EIT HealthUniversity of Luxembourg and Tomorrow Street on the organisation of a series of events that will take place at the end of October in Luxembourg:

EIT health is a non-profit European-wide organisation that works as a network of 150 world-class organisations working together to deliver life-changing healthcare solutions and improve healthcare delivery in Europe. For the flagship “Facilitating the Uptake of Digital Medical Devices in Europe”, EIT Health, the University of Luxembourg and Luxinnovation are hosting this matchmaking event focused on European market access strategy for innovative digital medical devices with interactive discussion with European experts in the field.

 

This key event will address the recent research breakthroughs in the interdisciplinary fields of digital medicine, bringing together leaders in academia, industry, medicine, patient organisations and influential policymakers. Four sessions will feature the following topics: Translation into European Markets, Digital Medicine Innovation, New Digital HealthCare Services-Market Access, and Data-Driven Healthcare.

 

Tomorrow Street’s flagship tech event brings together industry leaders and tech enthusiasts to discuss the power of technology that positively impacts society and our planet. This two-day event focuses on exploring next gen technology innovation and enabling new business opportunities.
A specific session on 27 October from 13:00 to 16:00 will feature the public pitching competition of start-ups applying to Luxinnovation’s Fit 4 Start acceleration programme, which includes a healthtech vertical.

The Ministry of the Economy, the National Research Fund (FNR) and Luxinnovation are launching a second joint call for public-private healthtech partnerships. The second Joint Call HealthTech offers the opportunity to match digital healthtech products or services at the prototype stage with business, research and healthcare expertise. Applications can be submitted until 31 March 2023.

Two first Luxembourg start-ups receive EIC Accelerator funding

The European Commission recently announced that Arspectra and Circuli-ion have been awarded funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator. This is the most prestigious funding available for start-ups from the EU’s Horizon Europe programme. Luxinnovation supported the first-ever EIC Accelerator winners from Luxembourg during the application process.

House of BioHealth extension inaugurated

On 12 January 2023, a new extension of the House of BioHealth, Luxembourg’s unique hosting facility for biotech and healthtech companies was officially inaugurated. A total of 15,000 m2 of lab and office space are now available for businesses in the sector.

Fit 4 Start #13: 15 start-ups selected

15 start-ups from 9 different countries have been selected for participation in the 13th edition of start-up accelerator Fit 4 Start. In addition to 6 months of coaching, pre-seed funding and access to all the key players of the Luxembourg start-up ecosystem, participants will also be encouraged to look into how their products and services can have a positive sustainable impact.
