The aim is to fund ambitious transnational RTD (Research and Technological Development) projects addressing materials research and innovation including materials for low carbon energy technologies and related production technologies. Deadline for pre-proposals is 13 June 2017.

More than 30 funding agencies from more than 25 European and non-European countries participate with a preliminary total budget of around 25 million €.

Funding will be offered to innovative projects focusing on:

  • Integrated computational materials engineering (ICME)
  • Innovative surfaces, coatings and interfaces
  • High performance composites
  • Multifunctional materials
  • New strategies for advanced material-based technologies in health applications
  • Materials for additive manufacturing

About M-ERA.NET

M-ERA.NET is an EU funded network which has been established in 2012 to support and increase the coordination of European research and innovation programmes and related funding in materials science and engineering. Between 2016 and 2021, the M-ERA.NET consortium will continue to contribute to the restructuring of the European Research Area (ERA) by operating a single innovative and flexible network of national and regional funding organisations. M-ERA.NET contributes to EU policies and is complementary to funding schemes at regional, national and European levels, supporting the exploitation of knowledge along the whole innovation chain from basic research to applied research and innovation. By stimulating scientific excellence and the creation of a new innovation oriented economy, M-ERA.NET will deliver lasting impact and significant breakthroughs. M-ERA.NET aims to develop a long-term cooperation between funding organisations from countries and regions across Europe and beyond.

DIH ON TOUR 2023: exploring holistic solutions for the manufacturing sector

Transnational call for R&D projects in lightweighting technologies open

The Luxembourg Ministry of the Economy and national funding bodies in Austria, Belgium (Flanders and Wallonia), Canada, France, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland are providing R&D project funding to organisations collaborating on international projects in lightweighting technologies. Applications can be submitted until 25 April 2023 for Luxembourg businesses.
