Over 5,000 attendees from 72 countries registered to attend the ICT Spring conferences, hosted yearly in Luxembourg. The 2023 edition featured high-level speakers including the Luxembourg Minister of the Economy Franz Fayot and the Mayor of the City of Tsukuba in Japan, Dr Tatsuo Igarashi, among many others.

Local and international pavilions comprised of private firms, associations, and several other exhibitors held a variety of informative workshops and side events that examined a wide range of vital topics. This year’s emphasis was on sustainability to accelerate transformation, finance and technology, cyber and quantum computing, big data and cloud, health technologies, web3 and artificial intelligence.

Sustainable transition and performance

Luxinnovation, the national innovation agency, welcomed several guests to its pavilion for interactive discussions on topics such as the Luxembourg economy and startup ecosystem, support mechanisms in Luxembourg to drive company sustainability and profitability, fostering innovation, and digital tools to drive SDG goals.

“Companies that link the digital and sustainable transitions are 2.5 times more likely to be among tomorrow’s strongest performers,” pointed out Arnaud Lambert, Director Digital Transformation at Luxinnovation.

International panellists at the Luxinnovation pavilion included William Choi, Founder and CEO of Posture AI in Korea, Petra Balladares, Export Consultant at CzechTrade Czech Republic, Kenji Suzuki, Professor at the University of Tsukuba Japan, Infinite Reality Europe CEO François Ribeiro and many others.

Several Luxinnovation experts were also invited as speakers at the different ICT Spring panels. Jenny Hällen Hedberg, Head of International Relations, moderated a fireside chat with John Acunto, CEO of metaverse leader Infinite Reality. Senior Advisor and Digital Community Coordinator Nicolas Sanitas moderated the round table discussion “How can responsible IT lead to financial gains?”.

Defence Technology & Innovation Coordinator Alexander Link and Head of International Business Development – Digital Economy David Foy spoke about how cybersecurity drives innovation through defence and economy. Special Advisor Ralf Hustadt gave a speech on why we need supercomputers to fuel the future of artificial intelligence.
