Luxinnovation spoke with Mathilde Argaud (MA), the dynamic founder and CEO of LargoWind about this exciting venture:

What has been your biggest achievement since you founded LargoWind?

MA: You cannot just reduce our journey to one single big achievement. It’s a process and we are making steady progress thanks to a strong team, which is focused and committed to our global goal.

What makes me especially proud though is to look back at the past two months in the Fit for Start programme and to realise that we have achieved more in such a short amount of time than in the previous nine months. Certainly prototyping and receiving feedback from customers as well as networking with other start-ups and contacts helped us advance a lot. Moreover, we further developed our strategy and improved our marketing tools.

Likes about Fit for Start:

  • Feedback and coaching sessions
  • Exchange of good practices among Fit for Start participants
  • Financial support

What did you learn so far by participating in the Fit for Start programme?

MA: This is hard to sum up since we learned so many things in such a short time! Like I pointed out before, Fit for Start helped us accelerate our development and take giant steps forward!

We also gained insight into the start-up environment in Luxembourg, we learnt the nuts and bolts of product positioning, strategy, business model development and financials. In addition, webecame aware of the importance of intellectual property. And I could name so much more…

On a practical level, we learned what delivery culture means: first, you focus on your core market before you implement any add-ons to your solution. The use of the lean start-up model set off a whole process of self-assessment and improvement: we developed, we tested and we collected feedback only to start the cycle all over again.

What are your next challenges?

MA: There is still a lot on our check list for the next months to come:

  1. Finalising the app
  2. Having beta testers confirm the IT and hardware side
  3. Promote our brand, develop our positioning and complete sales

Tip from an entrepreneur:

“Stop talking about your idea, launch it!”
