The 2019 edition of the FEDIL survey reveals a very high hiring potential in the next two years, with a total of 1,397 recruitments for the 98 companies who responded in the industrial and construction sectors (representing a total of 23,341 employees, or nearly 30% of all jobs in these two branches).
This is the highest total since 2003 arising from this survey.
Just under half of these recruitments (44.95%) are intended to replace departures, the majority (55.05%) to fill newly created positions.
While companies are still mainly looking for Professional Skills Diploma (Diplôme d’aptitude professionnelle) profiles, its significance (31.6% of the total figure) is down sharply compared to the previous study of 2017 (52.6%).
On the other hand, all other qualification categories have notably increased, the most sought after being BTS or higher technical diploma (with an increase from 12.5% to 16.7%), Master / PhD (from 10.4% to 15.8%) and Bachelor (from 9.8% to 13.5%).
The demand for candidates with the baccalaureate qualification has also increased (from 6.1% to 10.2%), but it remains the least solicited by industrial companies in Luxembourg (10.2% of the total number), just behind that of technician (increased from 8.6% to 12.1%).
The FEDIL specifies that the survey is limited to the affiliates of the Federation, which are not necessarily statistically representative of the branches concerned. As a result, any extrapolation pertaining to the entire economy is obviously irrelevant.
