The 2019 edition of the Craft’s Innovation Award “The Hands of Innovation by Mutualité des PME” is on track. This initiative of the Chamber of Skilled Crafts aims to encourage business leaders to adopt an innovation-based strategy in order to ensure their competitiveness in local and foreign markets.

Until 20 July, companies active in all sectors of the craft industry (food, fashion-health-hygiene, mechanics, construction, communication, multimedia and entertainment and other various craft activities) are invited to submit their applications online.

Six categories have been selected to illustrate the diversity of the notion of “innovation”: Product/design, Service, Process/production system, Marketing/communication, Management/organisation and Digitalisation.

The jury, composed of a representative of each partner, will select the finalists in each category, who will compete for the Grand Prix (with an award of 6,000 euros). In total, 12 projects will be selected and two companies will compete in each category. The finalists will be announced in October 2019 and the winners will be awarded the 5 December.

This Craft’s Innovation Award is organised by the Chamber of Skilled Crafts, in partnership with the Mutualité des PME, the Société Nationale de Crédit et d’Investissement, the Raiffeisen Bank, Enovos Luxembourg, the Fiduciaire des PME, Lalux Assurances, Digital Luxembourg GIE and Luxinnovation GIE.

For this 2019 edition, a “Special Digitisation Prize”, with an award of 4,000 euros, will also be awarded to highlight the importance of digitisation for the craft sector.

At the last edition, in 2017, Annen plus S.A., also winner in the “Process and Production System” category, won the First Prize “The Hands of Innovation”, with a completely modular screwless and nail-free construction system that allows the various elements to be dismantled and reused in another structure.
