Luxinnovation spoke with CEO Nicole Greene.

How did you first hear about Luxinnovation and our Fit 4 Start programme?

We found out about Fit 4 Start while searching for European countries that had a healthy start-up culture. We had found an article that listed the best locations for start-ups and after narrowing the list down to our top 3 and doing further research, we discovered the Fit 4 Start programme. It was perfect timing because the programme’s application deadline was the following day.

What was your biggest achievement?

When we first decided to join the programme, we knew it would challenge us as a team. First, we were 3 full-time members with an international background. However, only I had decided to attend the programme so that we could continue our progress in product development and testing. Our ability to learn and adapt to agile methodologies while working in different time zones really created a culture that is strong and ambitious within our start-up.

I would say one of our biggest evolutions came when we realised that our previous infrastructure wasn’t a scalable solution. We made the critical decision to rebuild and began testing our solution, which made a great impact for our product.

Name 3 things you especially like about the Fit 4 Start programme?

  • The exchange of knowledge from the jury, start-ups and other entrepreneurs
  • The lean start-up methodology
  • The location and its start-up scene

What did you learn so for by participating in the Fit 4 Start programme?

Being an international team, we learned a lot about the start-up ecosystem in Luxembourg and Europe. As a result, we were able to understand and assess our European product market fit and business model. Furthermore, as a company, it is imperative that we make fast and data-impactful decisions every day. The lean methodology of the programme really helped us test our assumptions and make quick alterations to our product to make it become market ready.

What are the upcoming challenges for your start-up?

Currently, our private beta is restricted due to it being for our case study release. So, finalising and becoming commercial ready is our top priority. With this, we plan to gain more visibility, close deals with new clients and continue our R&D to further scale our product.

As well, we are always on the lookout for talented and ambitious people to join our team, if you have an interest be sure to email us your CV at careers@bodyqapp.com

Tips and tricks of an entrepreneur:

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?

  1. If you’re an international team, plan accordingly for legal assistance to help set up your company
  2. The epiphany comes when you realise there may never be “the right moment”, just go for it.
